Refereeing Expert: Zizo Deserved a Foul Against Belgium

Gamal Al-Ghandour, the refereeing expert, confirmed that Ahmed Sayed Zizo, the star of the Egyptian national team, deserved a foul in the match against Belgium in the World Cup.

The match between Egypt and Belgium ended in a 1-1 draw in the first round of the group stage of the 2026 World Cup.

During his appearance as a guest on the program "Stad Al-Mehwar" hosted by media personality Khaled Al-Ghandour, Al-Ghandour stated that the Egyptian national team succeeded in imposing its character on the match and was not merely reactive against the opponent, but rather took the initiative during most periods of the encounter. He noted that the Belgian team was pleased with the draw result against the Pharaohs.

He confirmed that the Egyptian national team players succeeded in imposing strict marking on the Belgian star Jeremy Doku, which led to neutralizing his movements and completely controlling his actions throughout the match. With this strong defensive organization, the Pharaohs managed to neutralize the most prominent threat in the Belgian team and thwart their attacking playmakers.

He pointed out that the referee made only two mistakes during the match. The first was not issuing a card to a Belgian player after his tackle on an Egyptian player, and the second was in the play where Ahmed Sayed "Zizo" was pulled by a Belgian defender, emphasizing that the national team player deserved to be awarded a clear foul.
