The ranking of teams with the most goals scored in a single World Cup edition, according to FIFA data, is as follows:

First place: Hungary - 1954: Scored 27 goals in 5 matches with an average of 5.4 goals per match.

Second place: West Germany - 1954: Scored 25 goals in 6 matches with an average of 4.2 goals per match.

Third place: France - 1958: Scored 23 goals in 6 matches with an average of 3.8 goals per match.

Fourth place: Brazil - 1950: Scored 22 goals in 6 matches with an average of 3.7 goals per match.

Fifth place: Brazil - 1970: Scored 19 goals in 6 matches with an average of 3.2 goals per match.

Argentina also came in sixth place, scoring 18 goals in 5 matches during the 1930 edition, while Brazil is in seventh place with 18 goals in 7 matches in the 2002 edition, and Germany is in eighth place with 18 goals in 7 matches during the 2014 edition.

In ninth place, Austria came in the 1954 edition with 17 goals in 5 matches, and Portugal came in tenth place in the 1966 edition with 17 goals in 6 matches, and in eleventh place is West Germany with 17 goals in 6 matches in the 1970 edition.
