In second place is Brazilian legend Ronaldo Nazario with 15 goals in 19 matches he played in the World Cup, followed by German Gerd Muller who scored 14 goals during his participation in 13 matches in the global event.

In fourth place is Argentine Lionel Messi with 13 goals in 26 matches, tied with Frenchman Just Fontaine who scored the same number of goals in just 6 matches, noting that Leo Messi has a golden opportunity to make history in the 2026 World Cup.

Both Brazilian legend Pele and French star Kylian Mbappe have 12 goals each, with the possibility for the French star to increase his tally in the tournament's history during his participation in the global event this summer.

German Jurgen Klinsmann and Hungarian Sandor Kocsis each have 11 goals, while Polish Grzegorz Lato completes the top ten list with 10 goals in 20 matches.
