Chelsea Enters Race to Sign Cambiasso

Chelsea has shown interest in signing Juventus left-back Andrea Cambiaso, after the player had previously caught the attention of Manchester City, according to press reports.

Cambiasso is considered versatile on the field, primarily occupying the left-back position, but he can also play on the right side or in more advanced positions as a wing-back.

The player is likely to be among the names considered for departure from Juventus during the upcoming summer transfer window, especially after the club failed to qualify for the Champions League, which has opened the door to the possibility of selling several of its players.

Manchester City had entered advanced negotiations to sign Cambiasso in January 2025 for 65 million euros, but the negotiations later stalled and were disrupted due to an injury the player sustained.

The newspaper "La Gazzetta dello Sport" indicated that Chelsea has placed Cambiasso on its list of targets, especially in the event of Marc Cucurella's departure from the team.

The player's name has also been linked with Barcelona, even though his contract with Juventus runs until June 2029.

Reports confirm that Juventus has set a price of approximately 50 million euros to part with the player, who joined from Genoa in 2022 for 15.5 million euros, with a clause granting his former club 15% of any future sale.

This season, Cambiasso played 47 matches with Juventus across various competitions, during which he scored 3 goals and provided 5 assists.
