The Senegal national under-17 football team ascended to the throne of African football by winning the Africa Cup of Nations hosted by Morocco. They claimed the title after defeating the Tanzanian team in a penalty shootout in the final match held on Tuesday evening.

The Senegalese team reached the final after eliminating the Moroccan team in the semi-finals with a penalty shootout victory of 7-6, following a 1-1 draw in regular time. Meanwhile, the Tanzanian team made it to the final after overcoming the Egyptian team with a 4-3 win in the penalty shootout.

In the third-place playoff, the Egyptian team succeeded in finishing the tournament on the podium after defeating the Moroccan team 2-0, securing the bronze medal and concluding their participation on a positive note.

With this victory, the Senegalese team once again asserts its strong presence at the youth levels in the African continent, while the Tanzanian team delivered an impressive performance, culminating in reaching the final for the first time in its history.
