For the Seventh Time: Tunisia Aspires for Historic Advancement in the World Cup

The Tunisian national team is preparing to write a new chapter in its World Cup history after securing its participation in the 2026 World Cup finals. This marks its seventh appearance in the tournament and third consecutive participation, reaffirming its status among the top African and Arab teams on the global stage.

Although the "Eagles of Carthage" have not yet managed to advance beyond the group stage in all their previous participations, the accumulation of experience from recent editions gives Tunisian fans renewed hopes of achieving an unprecedented accomplishment in the upcoming tournament hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

The Tunisian national team holds a special place in World Cup history, as it became the first Arab and African team to achieve a victory in the tournament during its debut in the 1978 Argentina World Cup, when it defeated Mexico 3-1. In terms of individual statistics, Wahbi Khazri tops the list of Tunisia's World Cup scorers with three goals, while Kais Ghodhbane and Riadh Bouazizi share the lead for the most World Cup appearances by Tunisian players, each having played in eight matches.

During its six previous participations, the Tunisian national team played 18 matches in the World Cup finals, achieving 3 victories, 5 draws, and 10 defeats, scoring 14 goals and conceding 25 goals.
