Chelsea Holds Direct Talks with Alonso
The renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano reported via his official account on the platform 'X' that Chelsea held a direct meeting with coach Xabi Alonso, as part of its search for a new team manager.
Romano explained that the final decision is expected to be issued very soon, given the accelerated pace of negotiations during the current period.
He added that Chelsea's management plans to announce the new coach before the start of the World Cup, with continued acceleration of talks to resolve the matter as soon as possible.
He also pointed out that Chelsea has also held talks with a number of coaches on its list, including Andoni Iraola, the current manager of Bournemouth, who will leave the team at the end of the season, and Oliver Glasner, the manager of Crystal Palace, as part of the selection process for the new team coach.
Chelsea had previously dismissed its former coach Liam Rosenior after a series of negative results for the team.
