Manchester United Decides on Signing Cole Palmer
Saturday 09-05-2026
Manchester United has clarified its stance on the possibility of signing Chelsea star Cole Palmer in the upcoming summer transfer window. The club's management has decided not to enter the race to acquire him, despite a strong admiration for his technical abilities.

According to the Manchester Evening News, United's management does not consider signing Palmer a priority at the moment, especially given Bruno Fernandes' outstanding performance this season, along with the need to strengthen other positions within the team.

The club also understands that any potential deal would require a substantial amount, possibly exceeding £90 million, to persuade Chelsea to let go of the player.

The reports also indicated that Palmer felt frustrated with Chelsea's situation this season, following a decline in results and the loss of chances to qualify for the Champions League, despite reaching the FA Cup final. There were also rumors about the player's admiration for the improvement Manchester United experienced under the interim coach Michael Carrick, who is a candidate to continue permanently.

Despite the rumors, Palmer recently denied any intention to leave Chelsea, affirming that he is happy in London and has no plans to depart. The 24-year-old player is under contract with the club until 2033 and earns a weekly salary estimated at £150,000, which makes any move to acquire him financially complex.
