De Gea's Position on Leaving Fiorentina

Wednesday 24-06-2026
Press reports have revealed that Spanish goalkeeper David de Gea will not leave Fiorentina except in one specific case, which is a return to his former club Manchester United, amid previous interest from Juventus in signing him.

De Gea has been mentioned among the potential options to strengthen the goalkeeper position at Juventus, alongside prominent names such as Liverpool's Alisson Becker and Aston Villa's Emiliano Martinez, in addition to other candidates being considered.

According to "Manchester Evening News" and "Tutto Mercato Web," De Gea has decided not to consider leaving Fiorentina this summer unless the goal is to return to Manchester United only.

It is noted that the Spanish goalkeeper previously played for Manchester United from 2011 to 2023, before his contract ended in June 2023. He later returned to the field through Fiorentina in the summer of 2024 as a free agent.

De Gea's current contract with Fiorentina extends until June 2028, with an option for an additional year, making his continued presence with the Italian team the most likely scenario unless there is a development regarding a potential return to Old Trafford.
