Barcelona's goalkeeper, Wojciech Szczęsny, has decided on his future with the Catalan club after the end of the current season.
Szczęsny, who is 36 years old, joined Barcelona in 2024 after announcing his retirement from football months earlier, before renewing his contract last July to continue until the end of the next season.
According to the Spanish newspaper 'Sport', Szczęsny has decided to stay with Barcelona for the next season with the aim of completing his contract until 2027, following the club's desire for the goalkeeper to remain for an additional season, which the player agreed to.
Despite his current role as a backup goalkeeper to Juan Garcia, Barcelona's management values Szczęsny's experience, professionalism, and leadership ability in guiding young players within the team.
The Polish goalkeeper has participated in 10 matches with Barcelona during the current season across various competitions, conceding 17 goals.
