Find Out Why Zamalek's Registration Was Suspended for the 16th Time
The registration ban crises continue within Zamalek Club, as FIFA announced that the club has reached case number 16 in a series of sanctions related to the non-payment of financial dues to former coaches and players.
Zamalek is currently suffering from accumulated financial crises, prompting several former coaches and players to resort to FIFA to claim their overdue payments through official complaints.
According to FIFA's announcement, the latest registration ban decisions were due to the dues owed to former Belgian coach Yannick Ferrera and his assistants, adding to a long series of issues burdening the club.
Estimates indicate that Zamalek needs to pay approximately $6,174,000 (around 330 million Egyptian pounds) to lift the registration ban and regain the ability to make new signings.
The list of previous cases includes dues for several coaches such as Jose Gomez and Christian Gross, as well as former players, most notably the Tunisian Ferjani Sassi and the Senegalese Ibrahima Ndaye.
The issues also involved European and African clubs over player transfer deals, including dues for clubs like Saint-Étienne, Charleroi, and Renaissance Zemamra, in addition to cases related to player deals such as Chico Banza and Juan Bezerra.
These developments place the management of Zamalek in front of a significant financial and administrative challenge, amidst the pressing need to resolve outstanding issues to end the recurring registration ban crisis.
