Real Madrid Tops Global Shirt Sales
Saturday 02-05-2026
The year 2025 witnessed the continued dominance of major clubs in the global shirt sales market, where team shirts reflect the commercial and fan influence more than just being a sports product, according to reports from sources specializing in sports marketing.

Real Madrid topped the list of clubs with the highest shirt sales in the world, having recorded 3,133,000 shirts, ahead of Barcelona, which came second with 2,940,000 shirts, then Paris Saint-Germain with 2,546,000, and Bayern Munich with 2,377,000 shirts, according to data from EuroAmerica Sport Marketing and published by the Finance Football website.

Real Madrid's superiority was supported by the significant impact of newcomer Kylian Mbappe, alongside the prominent role of star Vinicius Junior, which boosted the royal club's marketing power globally and made its shirt one of the most demanded in international markets.

Despite the economic challenges Barcelona has faced in recent years, it maintained its second position globally, relying on its wide fan base and brand spread, in addition to the strong connection of fans with the club's historic shirt.

In contrast, Paris Saint-Germain continued its strong presence in the global market even after the departure of Lionel Messi, benefiting from its marketing strategy that blends football and fashion, in addition to winning the treble in the 2024/2025 season, which clearly boosted its sales.

The biggest surprise in the ranking came from Inter Miami, which ranked fifth with 2,166,000 shirts, as this historic rise was directly linked to Argentine star Lionel Messi, who brought about a significant transformation in the club's popularity and the American football league, according to the same reports.

The sources confirmed that Messi's impact was not limited to the sports side only but extended to raising the club's commercial value and making its number 10 shirt one of the best-selling in the history of the American league, clearly reflecting the power of stars on the modern football industry.

The ranking also included major clubs such as Boca Juniors, Flamengo, Manchester United, and Chelsea, in addition to Al-Nassr, which benefited from the significant media presence of star Cristiano Ronaldo.

This ranking reflects a clear shift in global football, where shirt sales have become a direct indicator of the fan and commercial influence of clubs, not just achievements on the field.
