Police Club Management Ends Association with Moamen Soliman
Friday 01-05-2026
The Police Club management officially announced the termination of their association with Egyptian coach Moamen Soliman by mutual consent, following poor results that accompanied the team in the recent rounds of the Iraqi Stars League.

The decision to part ways came after the "Qithara" drew 2-2 against Naft Maysan in the penultimate round, a result that halted their winning streak and kept the gap with the leading Air Force team at 7 points instead of reducing it.

The Police Club lost valuable points at a crucial time of the season, dropping 5 points from the last 3 matches after drawing with Naft Maysan and drawing 1-1 with Naft in the first leg, before returning to win 1-0 against Naft in the second leg. These fluctuating results placed the club's management in a position to consider change with 6 rounds remaining.

Moamen Soliman had a good period with the Police Club and achieved positive results in earlier stages, but the pressure of competition for the title and the heightened expectations of the fans led the management to seek a new technical boost in the final stretch.

According to some sources, the Police Club management has decided to appoint coach Ahmed Salah as a temporary or "emergency" coach for the remainder of the season.

Salah is no stranger to the Police Club, having previously taken on the role and achieved good results with the team. His experience in the Iraqi league and his knowledge of the "Qithara" locker room details were reasons that led the management to rely on him during this critical phase.

The new coach begins his task with the Police Club in a situation that cannot afford any further stumbles. The team is required to win all remaining matches and wait for the leader to falter if they wish to keep the title dream alive.

The Police Club enters the final phase of the season in second place on the standings with 67 points, after a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Naft in the 32nd round. "Qithara" temporarily reduced the gap with the leading Air Force team to 4 points before the leader played their match in the same round.
