Fathi Al-Jabali: We must turn the page on Al-Zawraa and think about Asia

Al Quwa Al Jawiya's coach Fathi Al Jebali and player Mohamed Jawad spoke after their 0-1 defeat to Al Zawraa in the seventh round of the Iraqi Premier League at Karbala International Stadium.

Fathi Al-Jabali stated in his remarks after the match: "The players did not hold back in their performance and our focus was on the match despite the circumstances we are going through."

He added: "The red card in the 12th minute affected the team significantly. Completing 80 minutes with ten players against Al-Zawraa is very difficult. That's football, some days you have it and some days you don't."

He continued: "We now turn the page on the Al-Zawraa match and think about what’s next. We have an Asian match and we need to perform well in it. We will work on correcting mistakes and restoring the players physically and mentally."

He concluded: "Thank you to the fans who supported the team throughout the match. We know the size of the responsibility and we promise to work hard to return."

Al Quwa Al Jawiya player Mohamed Jawad said: "We entered the match with the aim of winning, but the early red card made our task much harder."

He added: "We tried to come back after the goal and close the spaces, but playing with ten men against a team with quality like Al-Zawraa was not easy."

He continued: "Losing in the Clasico disappoints the fans, and we are also upset. But we must hold our heads high because the season is long and we have important commitments ahead."

He concluded: "We ask our fans for patience. We will fight in the upcoming matches and in the Asian tournament to make them happy."
