Robertson: We Conceded a Strange Goal, and I Want to Leave the Club in Excellent Condition
Saturday 25-04-2026
Liverpool defender Andrew Robertson appeared in a press statement following the 3-1 victory over Crystal Palace in the 34th round of the English Premier League, at Anfield.

The player said in his interview: "We were dominating the match, then we conceded a somewhat strange goal. We hope the right result comes and that we are the ones to score the next goal and secure the three points."

Regarding Munoz's goal amidst the injury of the Gunners' goalkeeper Woodman: "I don't think Munoz lifted his head. Woodman fell to the ground, tried to get up, then fell again. Munoz was looking down, trying to focus on shooting the ball. I believe the referee should have stopped the match, but goalkeepers are overly protected by referees. Fortunately, we were the ones who scored the next goal, not them."

Regarding goalkeeper Woodman's participation, he said: "I think he was fantastic. The players and coaching staff had great confidence in him because we see him every day. I'm very disappointed that he didn't keep a clean sheet."

Regarding his goal: "It was a fantastic finish, wasn't it? Maybe I should bench Alex and Hugo after that! I'm very happy to have scored and to lead 2-0. It's always great to score, especially on our home ground."

He added: "When you are the titleholder, we believe we have a team capable of competing, and when that's not the case, there will always be a buzz. This club deserves to be in the Champions League, so it's important for us to achieve a series of consecutive victories to accomplish that."

He concluded about his feeling of scoring at Anfield: "Unbelievable. Only four games left. Two at home, and I want to enjoy every minute the coach gives me on the pitch. It was a great moment for me. I'm sure the next two home games will be special for me and Mohamed Salah, and at least we can leave with the club in an excellent position."
