The Disciplinary Committee of the Qatar Football Association decided today, Sunday, to penalize Qatar Club by deducting three points from its tally and awarding them to Al Shamal Club. This decision was made due to the participation of Argentine player Franco Russo instead of Ahmad Al-Rawi during the postponed match from the 17th round of the Qatar Stars League, which took place between the two teams a week ago.

According to the issued decision, Al-Shamal Club was considered the winner with a score of three goals to none, in addition to Qatar Club being fined ten thousand Qatari riyals.

Based on the decision, Al Shamal's tally increased to 40 points, putting them just two points behind the leading Al Sadd, while Qatar Club's tally remained at 32 points.

The conflict in the twenty-second and final round of the league gains significant importance, as Al-Shamal faces Al-Sadd in a decisive match. The leader enters with the options of winning or drawing to officially secure the title, while the runner-up has no choice but to win to keep their hopes of clinching the championship alive.
