The Technical Referees Committee of the Spanish Football Federation announced the appointment of referee Javier Alberola Rojas to officiate the Copa del Rey final between Real Sociedad and Atletico Madrid, scheduled to take place on Saturday at La Cartuja Stadium.

Figueroa Vázquez will take on the role of Video Assistant Referee during the match, with referee Trujillo Suárez assisting him in the video room.

The referee is considered one of the most prominent in the Spanish league, regarded as one of the promising names both locally and internationally, due to his ability to manage matches and communicate with players, in addition to his style of explaining decisions while maintaining firmness on the field.

Alberola Rojas will officiate his first Copa del Rey final, despite being a well-known figure to Atlético Madrid, who have previously expressed objections to some of his decisions in derby matches against Real Madrid.
