Al Ahly's Draw Ignites Egyptian League Title Race
Wednesday 08-04-2026
The competition for the Egyptian Premier League title has intensified this season after Al Ahly drew with Ceramica Cleopatra, coinciding with Zamalek's victory, further complicating the struggle in the decisive stage of the tournament.

Zamalek tops the standings with 46 points, leading Pyramids, who are in second place, by three points, with the latter having a game in hand. Meanwhile, Al Ahly is in third place with 41 points.

Al Ahly has five crucial matches remaining in their journey towards the title, starting with a match against Smouha on April 11 at Cairo Stadium, followed by a meeting with Pyramids on April 27 at the Air Defense Stadium, and then the top match against Zamalek on May 1.

Al Ahly will face Enppi and Al Masry in the last two rounds on May 5 and 15, in matches where dropping points is not an option if the team wants to remain in the competition race until the final moments.

On the other hand, Zamalek also faces strong matches, most notably against Pyramids and then the derby against Al Ahly, in addition to games against Enppi, Smouha, and Ceramica Cleopatra. This makes the upcoming weeks crucial in determining the league champion, given the close points and intense competition among the three teams.
