Al-Masry Announces Departure of Coach Nabil Kouki
On Tuesday, Al-Masry Al-Portsaidi Club officially announced its separation from Tunisian coach Nabil Kouki and his assistant staff, after they submitted their apologies for not continuing to lead the team.
This decision came after a series of disappointing results, most notably the heavy loss to Zamalek by four goals to one in the first round of the final stage to determine the league champion. Additionally, the team was eliminated from the Confederation Cup after a draw with Algeria's CR Belouizdad and lost in the Egypt Cup on penalties to ZED in the round of 16.
This season is the first for Kouki with Al-Masry, where he led the team in 37 matches, achieving 16 wins, 13 draws, and 8 losses.
At the same time, the club's management is moving to bring in Egyptian coach Emad El-Nahhas, the former head coach of Al-Ahly and Iraq's Al-Zawraa, to take on the task of leading the team. This comes after he concluded his stint with Al-Zawraa following 20 matches, during which he achieved 11 wins, 5 draws, and 4 losses, and exited the AFC Champions League in the round of 16 against the UAE's Al-Wasl.
Thus, the Egyptian team is currently focusing its efforts on the Cairo Cup, after surpassing El Gouna with a total score of 4-2 in the quarter-finals, as the team's only hope to compete for a title this season.
