Moroccan Clubs Lead Player Transfer Profits in the Arab World

Moroccan clubs continued to assert their strong presence in the transfer market, after topping the list of the most profitable at the Arab level during the period between 2021 and 2025, according to the Mercato East 2025 report.

The report stated that clubs in Morocco achieved total profits of 42.7 million dollars, significantly surpassing other Arab countries, indicating the development of marketing Moroccan players in foreign markets.

In 2025, Moroccan clubs recorded profits reaching 11 million dollars, an increase of 33% compared to 2024, where profits were 8.3 million dollars, with player sales revenues reaching 18 million dollars against spending of approximately 7 million.

In the annual ranking for 2025, Tunisian clubs came in second with profits of approximately 4.1 million dollars, followed by Algerian clubs in third place, while clubs from Bahrain and Kuwait ranked fourth and fifth respectively.

In terms of total profits over the past five years, North African countries maintained the lead, with Tunisia in second place with a total of 13 million dollars, followed by Algeria with 8.3 million, and then Egypt with 5.5 million dollars, while Bahrain recorded a limited presence with profits less than one million dollars.

This superiority reflects the continued success of Moroccan clubs in investing in and developing talent, then marketing them for professional opportunities abroad, enhancing the status of Moroccan football on both the continental and international levels.
