According to press reports, Fenway Sports Group, the club's owner, has begun preliminary steps to assess the coach's future, accelerating the evaluation process that was scheduled for the end of the season, due to declining performance and results.

The recent loss to Manchester City intensified the criticism, especially since Liverpool started the match well before losing their balance and suffering another defeat, which upset the fans, many of whom left the stands before the end of the game.

Journalist James Pearce pointed out that the manner of the loss increased the pressure on the coaching staff, at a time when the management did not overlook this remarkable fan scene.
