Manchester City defender Nathan Ake appeared in press statements following the victory in the English League Cup final against Arsenal with a score of two goals to none, on Sunday evening.

The coach said in his talk: "It is a very special feeling. We did not win any title last season, so we were eager to win this season. This was the best way to achieve that against title contenders."

Regarding whether not winning any title last season affected the outcome: "We are expected to win, and that is what we expect from ourselves. Last year was disappointing, and this year we aimed to perform well."

He added: "Suddenly we have become veteran players. We have many talented young players, and we also have a strong mentality. We expect to win every day in training and meetings. We have gone through ups and downs this season, but today we showed even the young players that everyone has the mentality needed to achieve great accomplishments."

He concluded: "This title is a huge motivation for the remainder of the season. Every title is an achievement we accomplish, and this title gives us a significant morale boost."
