Demiral's Injury Prevents Him from Playing Against Al-Qadisiyah and Al-Hilal
Monday 09-03-2026
The absence of Turkish defender Merih Demiral, a player for Saudi club Al-Ahli, has been confirmed for two important matches for the team against Al-Qadsiah in the league and Al-Hilal in the semi-finals of the King's Cup.

Demiral's absence from the matches scheduled for March 13 and 18 is due to a recent injury to his adductor muscle sustained during team training.

The Saudi newspaper "Al-Riyadiyah" reported that the medical staff at Al-Ahli has decided on the player's status, confirming that he is not ready to participate in the next two matches.

The reports indicated that the return of the Turkish defender will be determined by his response to the treatment and rehabilitation program he is currently undergoing.

The coaching staff, led by the German Matthias Jaissle, prefers not to rush the player back into action until they are certain of his full recovery and physical readiness.

The Al-Ahly management also confirmed that the recent rumors about Demiral suffering a torn adductor tendon are untrue, emphasizing that the injury is less severe than what has been reported.

The Turkish defender had already missed several Al-Ahli matches in the Saudi league this season due to the same injury.

It is noted that his last absence was during the recent match against Al-Ittihad, after he was injured in the game against Al-Khaleej in the 17th round of the Saudi Roshn League.
