Libya Returns to the International Arena with a Camp in Morocco and Friendlies Against Niger and Liberia
Saturday 07-03-2026
The Libyan national football team is preparing to return to competitive action during the international break in March with a training camp held in Morocco. This camp will include two friendly matches against the Niger and Liberia national teams as part of their preparation program for upcoming commitments.

The Libyan Football Federation announced that the training camp will start on March 22 in Morocco, where the technical staff, led by Senegalese coach Aliou Cissé, will begin preparing the players technically and physically, with the aim of raising their readiness level before participating in upcoming official competitions.

During this training camp, the Libyan national team will play two friendly matches, the first against the Niger national team and the second against the Liberia national team. This is to give the coaching staff a greater opportunity to try out a larger number of players and assess the available options before determining the main squad for the upcoming period.

These matches hold special significance as they mark the return of the Libyan national team to play after an absence since last November, when they played their last match on November 25, 2025, and lost to the Palestinian team in the Arab Cup qualifiers. These preparations are in anticipation of upcoming commitments, foremost among them the qualifiers for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.
