Spanish coach Luis Enrique, the manager of Paris Saint-Germain, spoke about his team's 3-1 loss to Monaco in the match held on Friday evening at the Parc des Princes, as part of the French league competition, confirming that his team is going through a difficult period at the moment.

During the press conference after the match, Luis Enrique stated that his team did not show the required precision at several stages of the game, explaining that unusual mistakes were one of the main reasons behind this defeat.

Enrique said, "We were very inaccurate at several points during the match, and we saw unusual mistakes. When you make such errors against a team going through a very good period, you pay the price."

He continued: "We gave away a gift at the start of the match, and there was a lot of inaccuracy in our performance, which made things difficult for us."

The Spanish coach added that he does not want to lose confidence in his team despite the result, emphasizing that the players showed the spirit to persevere until the end.

He said, "I don't want to lose faith in this team at the moment. The players have shown a mentality of persevering until the end. It's true that the result isn't the best, but we enjoy facing challenges."

Enrique pointed out that the difficulties the team is currently experiencing seem to be primarily mental, emphasizing that he has encountered such periods before during his coaching career.

He explained: "Clearly, the problem is mental at the moment. I have lost many matches during my career, and it's a strange feeling that no one likes."

He continued: "There is no single reason for the defeat; it is a multifaceted issue, and confidence cannot be bought. We are clearly in a difficult situation, but we must remain hopeful in changing this situation."

When asked about the upcoming match against Chelsea in the Champions League, Enrique emphasized that the current time is dedicated to discussing the Monaco match only.

He said, "Now is the time to talk about Monaco, and there are no conclusions regarding the Champions League. We will discuss that match in due course."

The Spanish coach also refused to link the decline in results to the recent absence of Ousmane Dembélé, saying: "No, I have nothing to say on this matter."

Enrique also spoke about the team's defensive performance, noting that the first goal conceded by Paris Saint-Germain was the result of an unusual mistake.

He added: "The first goal was like a gift, which is unusual in professional football. We are one of the best defensive teams in the league and the Champions League."
