Gakpo: There's a Lot to Play For, and It Was a Great Evening
Liverpool star Cody Gakpo appeared in a press statement following the 5-2 victory over West Ham United in the 25th round of the English Premier League at Anfield.
The player said in his speech: "It was a wonderful evening. Step by step, we are becoming a better team. We went through a tough period during the season, but we hope that these few remaining matches will be the beginning of something beautiful."
He added, "We put in a lot of effort, even in the first half. We scored two goals from set pieces, or maybe three. The score was 5-2, but the match was much closer compared to the final result. They are a good team."
He emphasized: "We are approaching the end of the season, and we are still competing in the Champions League and the FA Cup. There is a lot to play for, and we hope to maintain the momentum we have and finish the season well."
He added: "When the match is tough, and you know you can score from a set piece, which we missed at the start of the season, that's a good thing."
He concluded about facing Galatasaray in the Champions League: "We are ready to compete. We have already had this experience this season, and we know well what we are up against."
