Alemany and Cerezo denied knowing about this, while Giuseppe Marotta, CEO of Inter Milan, described these rumors as completely fake news, confirming the Italian club's satisfaction with their current coach Cristian Chivu and his ability to lead the team successfully.

Despite Inter Milan's significant loss to Bodo/Glimt in the UEFA Champions League, the team, led by Chivu, tops the Italian league standings with a ten-point lead over second-placed Milan and has also qualified for the semi-finals of the Italian Cup to face Como, giving them a chance to compete for two titles this season.
