Wednesday 25-02-2026
Lamine Yamal, the Barcelona forward, received the Aldo Rovira Memorial Trophy on Wednesday as the team's best player for the 2024/2025 season, marking his second consecutive success after the 2023/2024 season. Yamal was one of the key pillars in achieving the domestic treble for the team, which includes the league, cup, and super cup.

The members of the judging panel, which includes Santi Nolla, the executive director of Mundo Deportivo, explained that Yamal had a decisive impact on the achievements of the team led by coach Hans Flick last season. The award is a well-established tradition, created by former director Josep Luis Rovira in honor of his son Aldo, who passed away in a car accident in 2009 at the age of 37.

The technical statistics highlighted Yamal's significant role, as he scored 18 goals and provided 25 assists during the season, making him an indispensable player in the team's lineup and an important reference in global football.

It is noted that previous editions of the award have seen the crowning of prominent players, including Lionel Messi who won the award six times, as well as Eric Abidal, Javier Mascherano, Luis Suarez, Gerard Piqué, Pedri, Gavi, and Ter Stegen, who won it twice.

This achievement is considered a confirmation of Lamine Yamal's status within FC Barcelona and reflects his continued vital role in the team's domestic and continental successes.
