The English Federation Imposes Sanctions on Chelsea and West Ham
Wednesday 25-02-2026
The English Football Association announced financial fines for Chelsea and West Ham United due to a mass brawl that occurred between the players of both teams at the end of their Premier League match last month.

The match witnessed a mass brawl involving several players, where West Ham's winger Adama Traore knocked Chelsea's Marc Cucurella to the ground before clashing with Joao Pedro. Other players intervened to try to break up the fight, and West Ham's Jean-Clair Todibo received a straight red card after a video review for grabbing Pedro by the throat.

According to the English Football Association's statement, Chelsea failed to ensure that their players did not act in an improper or provocative manner in the 95th minute, while West Ham failed to prevent their players from acting improperly or violently at the same time. It was noted that both clubs admitted to the charges against them.

The sanctions resulted in a fine of £325,000 being imposed on Chelsea, while West Ham was fined £300,000, as part of the English Football Association's disciplinary measures to ensure adherence to behavioral regulations on the field.

This decision comes as part of the English Football Association's efforts to maintain discipline and sportsmanship in the Premier League, and to penalize any violent or provocative actions that may affect the image of the game.
