The Tunisian Football Federation expressed its full support for the Tunisian national team player Hannibal Mejbri after he was subjected to racial abuse on social media following his team Burnley's match against Chelsea in the English Premier League.

The federation praised the player's sense of responsibility in handling these transgressions, confirming that it reached out to him to boost his morale and provide the necessary support during this sensitive period.

The federation also appreciated the responsible stance taken by Burnley Football Club in supporting its player and condemning the abuses he faced, considering that this solidarity reflects the club's commitment to the values of respect and equality in sports.

The Tunisian Union called on all concerned parties to intensify efforts to combat the phenomenon of racism and hate speech, and to work on reducing these behaviors and preventing their recurrence in the future, in order to preserve the human values that underpin sports.
