Wednesday 25-02-2026
The management of Al-Zawraa Club announced the appointment of Louay Salah as an emergency coach for the team until the end of the current season, succeeding the former coach Emad Al-Nahhas. This step aims to maintain the team's stability and guide it towards finishing the season with the best possible results in the Iraqi Stars League.

Louay Salah is considered one of Al-Zawraa's own, as he previously played for the team and achieved many local championships with them, which provides him with extensive experience and a great understanding of the team's culture and the ambitions of its fans.

Salah also possesses significant coaching experience, having led several prominent local clubs including Al-Minaa, Erbil, Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya, and Al-Kahraba, where he demonstrated his technical abilities in managing matches and dealing with various difficult circumstances, whether in terms of results or player management.

According to statistics, Louay Salah has overseen 73 matches with the teams he coached, achieving 22 wins, drawing in 22 matches, while losing 29 encounters. Salah's teams scored 84 goals during these matches while conceding 94 goals, reflecting the vast experience and diverse challenges he has faced throughout his coaching career.

Al-Zawraa's management hopes that this temporary change will contribute to bringing the team back to the path of victories and achieving the desired results in the league, especially with the fierce competition among league teams for top positions, which maintains Al-Zawraa's reputation and status among the elite.

The choice of Louay Salah is based on his precise knowledge of the team and its fans, and his ability to motivate players and restore the team's morale after a period of fluctuating results, particularly in the final stage of the season, where every point has become crucial in determining Al-Zawraa's ranking in the league table.
