Royal Army Player Absent from Match Against Pyramids in CAF Champions League
Tuesday 24-02-2026
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has notified Pyramids FC of the suspension of Royal Army player Mohamed Rabie Harimat for the first leg of the CAF Champions League quarter-final match between the two teams, scheduled for March 13 at the Olympic Stadium in the capital, Rabat, which will be held without spectators.

The suspension decision came after Harimat received a third warning in the tournament, officially ruling him out of the anticipated match, which is a significant loss for the Moroccan team ahead of an important continental stage.

The player is considered one of the key elements in the Royal Army's lineup, which requires the coaching staff to reorganize their strategy to compensate for this absence and maintain balance on the field during the first leg.

The African Union notice also included a change in the match start time, deciding to delay it by two hours to accommodate the iftar timings during the month of Ramadan, aiming to provide suitable conditions for the players.

The match holds great significance for both teams in the race to qualify for the semi-finals, as the Royal Army seeks to achieve a positive result at home before the return leg, while Pyramids aims to secure a result that gives them an advantage before the decisive second match.
