A responsible source within the Egyptian Football Association has resolved the recent debate regarding the team qualifying for the African Confederation Cup in the upcoming season, especially after Pyramids and ZED reached the Egypt Cup final.

In recent days, there have been widespread questions about the mechanism for determining the clubs participating in African tournaments, especially with ZED reaching the final despite not being among the top four positions in the Premier League standings.

He explained that the only situation in which the fourth-place team loses the opportunity to participate in the Confederation Cup is if a team outside the top four wins the Egypt Cup, which directly grants them a continental qualification spot.

The source added that if one of the top teams in the league wins the Egypt Cup title, the fourth-place team will still have the right to qualify for the Confederation Cup, rather than the runner-up of the tournament being granted the spot.
