Al-Ahly Tripoli Signs Lamin Kamara
On Sunday evening, Al-Ahly Tripoli club officially announced its signing of Senegalese midfielder Lamine Camara, coming from Renaissance Berkane, in a deal finalized during the last hours of the winter transfer window.
The Libyan club confirmed that the deal was successfully completed after activating the release clause in the player's contract, with Camara signing a contract that extends until the summer of 2028, thus ending his career with the Berkane team.
The departure of the 23-year-old player is considered a significant technical loss for Renaissance Berkane, as he has been a key figure in the midfield since joining in 2021. He contributed to winning several titles, most notably the CAF Confederation Cup twice, the CAF Super Cup once, as well as the professional league title and the Throne Cup on multiple occasions.
Kamara's transfer comes at a critical time, as Renaissance Berkane is competing on several fronts, including the quarter-finals of the CAF Champions League and the national championship, which presents the technical management with challenges to replace him.
The player's transfer to Stoke City was hindered last summer due to not passing the medical examination, before Al-Ahly Tripoli succeeded in finalizing the deal after overcoming various administrative obstacles.
With this contract, Kamara closes the curtain on a remarkable five-year experience in Moroccan football, to begin a new chapter in the Libyan league with great ambitions.
