The young police defender Adam Taleb sent a message of ambition and confidence with the start of his new chapter in the Iraqi stadiums, after joining the ranks of the Green Harp during the last winter transfer period from the Slovenian club Maribor, in a step through which he seeks to establish his footing and regain his shine after a difficult period due to injury.

Taleb (19 years old) played his first official match in the police jersey, where he participated as a starter until the 82nd minute in his team's match against Diyala, which ended with an important 2-1 victory for the police in the Iraqi Stars League, in a match that witnessed a distinguished audience presence at the Cage Stadium.

The young defender had been waiting for this moment for a long time, especially after an injury deprived him of appearing in the past period, whether with Maribor or with the Iraqi Olympic team, before gradually regaining his physical readiness and gaining the confidence of the police's technical staff to participate from the start.

Taleb said in special statements to the winwin platform: “I feel incredibly great, it's an excellent start for us, and I am happy to collect the three points. The entire team was amazing today, and every player gave their all on the field. Now we have to continue the journey step by step, and hopefully, we will win the Iraqi league title.”

He added: “Seeing more fans in the stadium gave me chills. They were truly amazing, and their support means a lot to us. I hope they attend every match because they give us a big boost. Hopefully, we will win the league for them because they deserve all the efforts made by us.”

Regarding the possibility of his future return to wear the Iraqi national team jersey, Taleb clarified: “We will see, God willing, at the moment my full focus is on the police and giving my best here. The club believed in my abilities, and I owe them to deliver great performances. I am here for this reason.”

He also commented on the presence of the Iraqi national team coach, Australian Graham Arnold, in the stands of the police stadium to follow the match, saying: “I was happy to see coach Graham Arnold in the stands, and I promise everyone to deliver great performances. I am ready to serve my country at any time, and wearing the Black of the Mesopotamian jersey is a great honor.”

Taleb hopes that this start will be a true launch point in his career, especially with the strong competition witnessed in the Iraqi Stars League this season, where the police occupy an advanced position in the standings and continue their struggle for the title, amid the administration and fans' desire to regain the league shield.
