Despite his statements causing controversy, the English Football Association decided not to take any disciplinary action against Ratcliffe, merely reminding him of his responsibilities when participating in media interviews.

For his part, Ratcliffe offered a limited apology, saying he was "sorry if the choice of his words upset some people in Britain and Europe."

Carrick declined to comment directly on Ratcliffe's statements, but he emphasized that the club embodies the values of respect, equality, and diversity, noting that Manchester United has made a significant global impact over the past years.
