Zakaria Defies Classifications: I Am Not a Rescue Coach... and Al-Shabab Will Return to Its Natural Position
Wednesday 18-02-2026
Noureddine Zakri, the new coach of Al-Shabab, revealed details of his negotiations with the club's management, confirming that he turned down many offers to take on this experience.

Zakry explained during his appearance on the program "Action with Waleed" that communications with the Al-Shabab management began more than a month ago, noting that some financial obstacles delayed the resolution of the former coach Alguacil's dismissal.

The Algerian coach confirmed that he received several offers from both inside and outside Saudi Arabia, but he rejected them all because he does not wish to repeat the experience of saving teams from relegation.

Zakry emphasized that he has previously succeeded in difficult tasks with multiple clubs, but today he looks forward to leading a team of Al-Shabab's caliber and competing for advanced positions befitting the club's history.

He added that the youth possess a great legacy, and his goal is to correct the course and restore the team to its natural position among the top teams in the coming period.

He also referred to his experience with Al-Khulood Club last season, where he worked for eight months and achieved positive results, at times outperforming larger clubs in the Saudi Roshan League.

Al-Shabab currently holds the fourteenth position with 19 points, accumulated from 4 wins, 7 draws, and 10 losses, placing the team before a real challenge in the upcoming rounds.
