Sudan Secures Four Continental Spots and Strengthens Its Position in CAF Club Rankings
Monday 16-02-2026
Sudan has secured the participation of four clubs in the Confederation of African Football's club competitions for the next season, after confirming its position among the top 12 African associations in the continental ranking based on club results over the last five seasons.

This ranking grants the leading federations the right to involve two clubs in the CAF Champions League and two clubs in the CAF Confederation Cup.

Sudan ranked ninth in the overall points standings, with the possibility of improving its position if Al-Hilal Club continues its successful run in the African Champions League this season, which could increase Sudan's points and enhance its ranking in the continental classification in the future.

Four other Arab countries also secured a spot on the list, namely Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, and Tunisia, thanks to the strong performances of their clubs in recent seasons. In contrast, Libya failed to join this group, ranking thirteenth, despite the fact that having just one club reach the group stage would have been enough to grant it the right to participate with four clubs.
