A European press report revealed a significant development in the transfer file of the Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, with the Saudi club Al-Ittihad entering into preliminary negotiations to sign him during the upcoming summer transfer window.

The "Photo Mercato" website reported that Saudi Arabia had previously attempted to attract Mohamed Salah in past seasons, but the player preferred to continue with Liverpool and signed a contract extension after the end of the 2024-2025 season.

Liverpool's current season has seen a noticeable decline in results, coinciding with a drop in Salah's performance, before the crisis escalated last December following his public criticism of Dutch coach Arne Slot after being excluded from the starting lineup.

Since that incident, serious consideration began regarding the possibility of the Egyptian star's departure. However, the Africa Cup of Nations provided a period of calm, after which he returned with a smile and regained his position among the key players.

Despite the relative improvement in the situation, the effects of the crisis have not completely disappeared, as evidenced by Salah allowing his agent to open negotiation channels with Al-Ittihad Club, according to the same report.

Mohamed Salah's agent is in direct talks with the Al-Ittihad club management, as the player seems more open this time to the idea of having a professional experience in the Saudi league, while retaining the final say.
