Liverpool's Stance on Van Dijk's Departure Next Summer
Wednesday 28-01-2026
Press reports have confirmed that Liverpool Football Club does not intend to consider any offers that may be made for its captain, Virgil van Dijk, during the upcoming summer transfer window, despite the noticeable decline in his performance this season.

According to "Football Insider," the management of the "Reds" still considers the Dutch defender an essential part of the team's project, relying on his extensive experience and leadership role both on and off the field, especially after recently renewing his contract to remain with the club until the summer of 2027.

Van Dijk joined Liverpool in 2018 and directly contributed to the significant successes the team achieved in recent years.

The veteran defender played 351 matches for Liverpool across various competitions, during which he scored 31 goals and provided 13 assists, making him one of the most prominent names in the club's modern history.
