Flamengo has reached a preliminary agreement with West Ham United regarding the signing of Brazilian star Lucas Paquetá to the team, according to what journalist Ben Jacobs revealed on his account on the X platform.

According to the source, the parties involved are currently working on finalizing the details related to payment terms, with Paquetá expected to leave West Ham during the current winter transfer window if things go according to plan.

This agreement is an important step in the transfer market, as Flamengo aims to strengthen its squad with a player who has extensive international experience, while Paquetá is nearing a return to Brazil after a European stint with the English team.

Paquetá is a graduate of the Flamengo Academy and joined Milan in 2019, then moved to Lyon in 2020, and has been playing for West Ham United since 2022.

Paqueta played 139 matches with West Ham, scoring 23 goals and providing 15 assists, while he had played 95 matches with Flamengo, scoring 18 goals and providing 8 assists.
