Amer Jamous Reveals Reasons for Moving to Al-Zawraa
Tuesday 27-01-2026
The Jordanian national team player and Al-Zawraa club member, Amer Jamous, has revealed the reasons that led him to choose to join the ranks of the 'Al-Nawaris' during the current winter transfer period, in preparation for participating in the Iraqi Stars League and the AFC Champions League 2.

Jamous, who is 24 years old, is one of the names that strongly caught attention over the past two seasons with the Jordanian Al-Wehdat team, where he delivered outstanding and consistent performances, making him one of the key pillars in the team's lineup.

Al-Zawraa club contracted the Jordanian player to compensate for the departure of his compatriot Nizar Al-Rashdan, who decided to terminate his contract with Al-Nawaris and embark on a new professional experience with Qatar's club, after a short period he spent with the team at the beginning of the current season.

Amer Jamous said in exclusive statements to the winwin website:

"Firstly, I thank the Iraqi fans for their warm welcome, as they are known for their generosity and hospitality, and I felt that from the first day of my arrival in the capital, Baghdad, and my training sessions with my teammates in Al-Zawraa team."

He added:

"I chose to join Al-Zawraa because it is a big club that always competes for titles, and its reputation is known not only within Iraq but also across Asia and the Arab world, and I hope this step will be an important milestone in my football career."

He pointed out by saying:

"Before completing the transfer, I communicated with my teammates in the Jordanian national team who previously played with Al-Zawraa, like Abdullah Naseeb and Nizar Al-Rashdan, and they greatly encouraged me to take this experience, which made my decision easier."

Jamous continued his talk:

"I am still in the stage of getting to know the nature of life and football in Iraq, and I have not played official matches in the league yet, but I know well that the Iraqi league is very competitive, and the number of clubs is greater compared to the Jordanian league, which makes the competition long and difficult."

The Al-Zawraa player concluded his statements by saying:

"I have started to get to know the Iraqi culture and tried the dish Dolma, which I liked very much, and it was my teammate Hussein Falbah who advised me to try it, and I look forward to discovering more Iraqi dishes, especially since the Iraqi cuisine is rich and diverse."
