Riesha Questions Al-Hilal's Goal Against Al-Riyadh
The refereeing analyst, Mohamed Kamal Risha, clarified his position on Al-Hilal's first goal against Riyadh during the match between the two teams on Sunday, as part of the 18th round of the Saudi Professional League's Roshn Championship, held at Prince Faisal bin Fahd Stadium.
Al-Hilal opened the scoring through Brazilian Marcos Leonardo in the 26th minute of the first half, following an attack that began with a ball interception by Hassan Tambakti, before reaching Malcom, then Uruguayan Darwin Núñez, who skillfully dribbled past the goalkeeper to pass the ball in front of the goal for Leonardo to place it into the net.
Mohamed Kamal Risha confirmed in his statements to the newspaper "Al-Riyadiyah" that the goal was not correct from a refereeing perspective, explaining that the moment of intercepting the ball involved a violent tackle by Hassan Tambakti on Osama Al-Bawardi, the Riyadh player, which should have warranted a foul being called before the attack began.
Risha added that the VAR room should have called the on-field referee to review the situation and then cancel the goal, noting that the intervention was reckless and against the rules. It is worth mentioning that the first half ended with Al Hilal leading thanks to Leonardo's goal scored in the 26th minute.
