The German Matthias Jaissle, the head coach of Al-Ahli Jeddah's first football team, has decided on the participation of Senegalese international goalkeeper Edouard Mendy in the upcoming match against Neom, as part of the Saudi Professional League, confirming his readiness to be with the team.

In the past few hours, Al Ahly club celebrated the return of Mendy after he won the Africa Cup of Nations 2025 with his national team, Senegal. The club posted a welcoming message on its official account on the "X" platform, stating: "After a long absence, he brought back the spoils. We missed you, Mendy, we really did. Safety has returned," highlighting the goalkeeper's importance to the team.

According to sports critic Walid Saeed, Mendy led the Al-Ahly delegation departing for Tabuk, having gone directly to the club's headquarters upon his arrival in Jeddah. He participated in the group training sessions, confirming his technical and physical readiness for the upcoming match.

Al-Ahli will visit Neom on Saturday evening at 8:30 PM at the King Khalid Sports City Stadium in Tabuk, for the 18th round of the Saudi Roshan League. Al-Ahli is currently in third place with 37 points, while Neom is in ninth place with 21 points.
