In a notable shift in stance, Frenchman Hervé Renard, coach of the Saudi national team, sent a strong message of support to Moroccan star Brahim Diaz, just days after his sharp criticisms of the player following the Africa Cup of Nations final "Morocco 2025".

Renard had previously sparked widespread controversy with earlier statements in which he harshly attacked Diaz, the Real Madrid player, after he missed a decisive penalty against Senegal, describing the execution as "disregarding" the hopes of the Moroccan people.

In his new statements, Renard appeared more calm and diplomatic, praising Morocco's organization of the tournament, saying: "The Africa Cup in Morocco was wonderful.. I watched all the matches and didn't miss a second."

When addressing Diaz's future, the French "fox" changed his tone from attack to support, affirming that the player's global status will help him recover, saying: "Diaz plays for a very big club, and I am convinced that he will succeed in rising again."
