Al-Ittihad Surprises Fenerbahçe with Strict Financial Ceiling Regarding Kanté's Departure
Wednesday 21-01-2026
Al-Ittihad Club clearly stated its position regarding the future of N'Golo Kanté, after the French midfielder's name was linked with a move to Turkish club Fenerbahçe during the current winter transfer window.

The club set its financial condition for approving Kanté's departure, as the Turkish club is interested in strengthening the midfield before the remainder of the current season.

Fenerbahçe's management took the initiative to open negotiation channels with the federation officials in recent days, aiming to reach an agreement that would allow the signing of the French star in January.

Spanish journalist Mateo Morito, affiliated with the newspaper "Marca," revealed that negotiations are still ongoing between the two parties, with no final agreement on the deal's value reached yet.

Morito explained, via his account on the platform "X," that Al-Ittihad's management requires an amount ranging between 12 and 15 million euros to allow Kanté's transfer.

N'Golo Kanté, 34 years old, joined Al-Ittihad in the summer of 2023 from English club Chelsea, on a contract lasting until June 2026.

Kanté participated with Al-Ittihad in 102 matches across various competitions, during which he scored 9 goals and provided 10 assists, remaining one of the key players in the team's lineup.
