Tuesday 20-01-2026
Al-Zawraa Club officially announced the end of Bahraini national team player Mahdi Al-Humaidan's journey with the Al-Nawaris squad, after a short period spent with the team during the current season.

Al-Humaidan had joined Al-Zawraa at the beginning of the current season, during the last summer transfer window, coming from Al-Khalidiya Club in Bahrain, as part of the club management’s efforts to strengthen the frontline with players who have international experience.

The Bahraini player participated with Al-Nawaris in 10 official matches in the Stars League, during which he managed to score two goals and assist one, but his performance did not meet the expectations of the technical staff and club management, leading to an agreement to terminate the contract between both parties.

Al-Zawraa Club published an official statement on its accounts saying:

"Bahraini national team star Mahdi Al-Humaidan

A short period but full of challenges and dedication.. Thank you for what you have given for the badge."

On his part, Mahdi Al-Humaidan bid farewell to Al-Zawraa fans with an emotional message on his official account, expressing his thanks and gratitude to the club and everyone who supported him during his experience, saying:

- "Thank you from the heart to everyone who stood behind me and supported me at every moment. I was honored to wear Al-Zawraa Club’s jersey and play in front of a large audience with its history, passion, and loyalty."

- "Thank you to the Board of Directors, the technical, administrative, and medical staff, my fellow players, and all the club workers."

- "I always urge you to stand behind the team and support it in all circumstances, as the fans are the real strength and the greatest motivation for the players on the field."

- "My journey may end here, but love and respect will always remain in my heart. I wish the club and its fans all the best and success in the future, and may Al-Zawraa always remain at the top as we are used to."

With this, Al-Zawraa closes the chapter on Mahdi Al-Humaidan’s experience, while the management continues to arrange the team’s preparations for the upcoming commitments in the Iraqi Stars League and other competitions.
