English star Marc Guehi, defender of Crystal Palace, is close to joining Manchester City during the current winter transfer window, after reaching a full agreement on personal terms with the Sky Blues.

Manchester City began their efforts to sign 25-year-old Guehi amid the team's defensive injury struggles affecting Guehi and Rúben Dias, prompting the management to quickly strengthen the backline.

According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Guehi has already completed the first part of the medical examination with Manchester City, ahead of officially signing the contract. He also noted that the deal is estimated to be around £20 million, plus some add-ons.

The Crystal Palace captain has been the focus of interest from several major European clubs in recent months, most notably Liverpool and Bayern Munich, especially with his contract nearing its end at the conclusion of the current season.

Since joining Palace in 2020, Guehi has played a total of 188 matches, including 33 appearances this season. He also led the team to their first major trophy in history by winning the FA Cup against Manchester City.

Manchester City continues its activity in the winter transfer market after completing the signing of Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth for 62.5 million euros, as well as recently ending the loan of young defender Max Aillin and recalling him from Watford.
