Ajax Amsterdam officially announced the appointment of Jordi Cruyff, son of the legend Johan Cruyff, as the club's head coach (technical director), following the finalization of an agreement and the signing of contracts between both parties.

Cruyff is scheduled to officially begin his duties on February 1, 2026, with a contract lasting until June 30, 2028, in a move aimed at restoring technical stability and establishing a long-term vision for the club's sports sector.

Ajax clarified that the club will also propose the official appointment of Jordi Cruyff as a member of the board of directors, with this to be approved during an upcoming extraordinary general meeting of shareholders.

Cruyff is considered one of the club's own, having grown up in Ajax's academy before his playing career with major clubs, most notably Barcelona and Manchester United. He also has extensive administrative experience from his roles in sports management, particularly with Barcelona, which strengthens the management's confidence in his ability to lead the club's sporting project.
