Al-Ahli Jeddah team snatched a valuable 1-0 victory against their host Al-Akhadoud in the match held on Saturday evening, as part of the 14th round of the Saudi Roshn Professional League.

German Matthias Jaissle started the match with a lineup including Abdulrahman Al-Sanbi, Zakaria Hawsawi, Roger Ibanez, Merih Demiral, Mohammed Bakr, Ziyad Al-Juhani, Enzo Millot, Matheus Junsalvis, Galeno, Ivan Tony, and Firas Al-Buraikan.

The first half witnessed a refereeing controversy after the referee disallowed an Al-Ahli goal in the 2nd minute of added time, scored by Matheus Junsalvis, following a Video Assistant Referee (VAR) review due to a foul by Firas Al-Buraikan.

The disallowed decisions continued at the beginning of the second half, where another Al-Ahli goal was canceled in the 47th minute after VAR intervention and a foul was called on player Enzo Millot.

English striker Ivan Tony succeeded in breaking the deadlock in the 58th minute, taking advantage of a corner kick that Al-Akhadoud's defense failed to clear properly, as Ziyad Al-Juhani set the ball in front of the goal and Tony placed it into the net.

With this victory, Al-Ahli raised their points to 28, moving up to fourth place in the Saudi League standings, while Al-Akhadoud's points remained at 5, in seventeenth place.
